August 2020 Bullet Journal Setup

Well it’s that time of the month everyone. Today is my August Bullet Journal setup. This month is a little shorter and more concise but I’m very pleased with the results. I decided to go for a hot air balloon theme which was inspired by Amanda Rach Lee’s April 2019 Setup. You may remember I did a Balloon theme last year but I feel this is very different so I decided to go for this theme for August. I love the warm and summery colours I’ve gone for. It gives me a sunset kind of vibes. Anyway without further ado, let’s get to it!

Cover Page

For my cover page, I went for a big hot air balloon in the middle of the page with August inside. I went for a non cursive calligraphy font and I paired that with what I like to call floating lettering. I added smaller hot air balloons around the edge and created a small border and I think it looks really good. I also included my quote page as always. I think the quote is very in keeping with the theme and of course I added more hot air balloons around the edge to tie in the theme even more.

Monthly Spread

I am in love with my monthly spread. I went for a calendar layout which is definitely my favourite layout for a monthly spread. Each square is 5 by 5 in my notebook which is plenty of room for me. I also inluced an Instagram follower tracker at the side as well as a box for my goals for the month. I’m intrigued to see how this works well for me. I included hot air balloons in the empty space with floating lettering for August. I think the overall outcome is very cohesive.

Habit and Mood Tracker

For my habit tracker, I went for the same individual tracker layout which has been working really well for me. I really like how clean and simple this layout is, particularly the titles for each habit.

As for my mood tracker, I’ve been really enjoying the so called creative trackers recently. Last month I doodled a fruit each day depending on my mood and this month, I went for a colouring one. I coloured in the parts of the hot air balloon without a number just so that when the month is over it looks cohesive and complete. I also included some washi tape in the bottom right corner just to add something a little different. I’m looking forward to seeing how this looks at the end of the month!

Sleep and Expenses Tracker

My sleep tracker this month has remained the same. This layout continues to work really well for me so I don’t see the need to change it up if it’s working well for me. Once I reach that stage though when it’s not working, I will do something different. This is one of my favourite things about using the Bullet Journal system!

As for my expenses tracker, I went for the same layout again as this has also been working well to an extent. I feel like it’s not that complete and something is missing so if anyone has any ideas, feel free to let me know in the comments!

Gratitude Log and Playlist

My gratitude log is still very much the same. I adore this spread a lot as it really helps me to be appreciative every single day even if it’s due to the smallest of things.

My playlist this month has a musical theatre type theme. I love that I used the hot air balloons for each song and I’m really glad I have started to include this spread in my monthly setup.

August Favourites and Brain Dump

My favourites and memories spread is also the same as last month. A single page is plenty of room for me considering the situation we’re all in. Hopefully, I’ll be able to move onto a double page spread soon!

My brain dump has returned everyone! I’ve been noticing that there’s quite a lot of empty space on my previous brain dumps where I used a double page spread. Therefore, I turned it into a single page spread which is why you’re all seeing it now!

I hope you like my August 2020 Bullet Journal setup! Thank you for reading and I shall see you soon!

Love Beth

  1. Love the theme and the colours! I definitely feel like I need to journal more on a reflective basis, rather than always using it for organisation. Love the lettering style you used too!
