How I Plan My Instagram Schedule

Hello everyone and welcome back to another blog post! Today’s post is all about how I plan my Instagram schedule. I run a Bullet Journal Instagram account (you can follow me here) and I need a system that enables me to plan when I post. This is more about scheduling as opposed to the actual content. If you would like a blog post on that, feel free to let me know!

The way I plan my schedule starts with the actual taking of photos. I always make sure to take quite a few photos in advance. For example, I have about 10 photos already taken ready to be uploaded.

Here’s the things I use when taking photos.

Once I’m happy with the photos I’ve taken and they’re all edited, I will put them in a folder on my phone so that they are all together and I can see how they look as if they were on my Instagram feed.

I will then go into my Bullet Journal and straight to my Instagram content planner (which should be renamed to schedule. Shh.) I have a mini calendar and I essentially use that to decide when each photo should be uploaded.

You will notice that some are written in pen and some are written in pencils. I always look at the photos I have first of all and write them in pencil. Once that day has passed, I will write it in pen because I think it looks better. I write them in pencil so that it’s easy to change around the schedule if need be. I’m always taking photos and sometimes, I may want another photo to appear earlier or I may not be happy with the schedule. A calendar just allows me to have an overall look at the month.

A short post this week but that’s how I plan my Instagram schedule! Thank you so much for reading and I shall see you in the next post.

Love Beth

  1. I needed this today! I’ve been sporadically posting to Instagram and I want to come up with an actual schedule. Thanks for the inspiration!

  2. Planning it out on your phone so you can actually see what it’ll look like on your feed is INGENIOUS. I’ve just been trying to work out how everything else will move up when I post whatever photo I’m thinking of posting next, and now I feel a little daft for not working this out!
