BLOGMAS: What I’m Watching on TV This Christmas

Hello everyone! Welcome to day 3 of Blogmas. Today’s post is all about TV and more specifically, Christmas TV. This time of year is honestly prime time television, with many shows releasing Christmas specials, TV channels showing movies and various programmes airing over the festive period. It’s such a staple part of the day and the build-up and aftermath of Christmas so I thought I would share some of the things I’m going to be watching!

1) Gavin and Stacey Christmas Special – BBC One

Oh my christ, it’s back! I am so excited for the Christmas special of Gavin and Stacey. The series is one of my absolute favourites and their original Christmas special is absolute TV gold. It’s been 9 years since Gavin and Stacey had a new episode but this year, they’re finally releasing a new Christmas special and I can’t wait. Do Gavin and Stacey have 10 children now? Are Smithy and Nessa together? What actually happened on the fishing trip? I am pumped.

2) A Christmas Carol – BBC One

I love a good adaptation of “A Christmas Carol” so naturally I am looking forward to giving this a watch. The casting for this looks incredible and I can’t wait to see this interpretation of a classic.

3) Not Going Out Christmas Special – BBC One

One of my all-time favourite Christmas special episodes of any show is the Not Going Out Christmas Special from 2013. Naturally, I’m looking forward to the 2019 Christmas special as I’m sure it’s going to be hilarious and a fun watch!

4) Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special – BBC One

I absolutely adore Strictly Come Dancing. Watching it every weekend in the last few months of the year always gets me so excited for the festive period and I also really enjoy watching the Christmas Special. The cast for this year looks incredible and I can’t wait to see who wins!

5) Martin’s Close – BBC Four

I love a good horror/ghost programme so when it was announced Mark Gatiss was adapting a short story by MR James, I was very excited. The cast of this is absolutely incredible and I love Mark’s work so I’m looking forward to seeing how much I enjoy this!

6) The Big Fat Quiz of The Year – Channel Four

The Big Fat Quiz of the Year is one of the highlights of my year. The comedians on the show always give it their all and it’s always a late-night favourite of mine on boxing day.

And these are some of the shows I’m watching on TV this year at Christmas! Thank you so much for reading and I shall see you tomorrow!

Love Beth
