Hello everyone and welcome back to another blog post! Today’s post is going to be a shorter one but nevertheless, let’s get on with it. Today I’m going to be talking about my morning routine!
This isn’t what I do every single morning and I’m only sharing a small part but I thought it would be intriguing to share it with you!
The first thing I do when I wake up is immediately go through my phone and check all of my social media accounts. I always do this first so I can get it out of the way and focus on me time for a while. I also feel like I end up missing a lot when I’m asleep so I make sure to catch up straight away. It’s just natural instinct to me now.
Yes, I depend on social media a lot.
During this time, I will go through my feeds, check my notifications, reply to anyone and just spend time catching up on what’s happened whilst I’ve been sleeping. This usually takes me between 15 minutes and half an hour usually, depending on how popular I am.
So, more often it’s 15 minutes.
The next thing I like to do is meditation. I’ve been doing this on/off for over two years now but recently, I’ve incorporated it into my morning routine and I’ve found this works very well for me. I use the app Headspace and I’ve just been following the basics sessions at the moment. I aim to do about 10 minutes each day but when I don’t have the time, I’ll go for either 3 minutes or 5 minutes as that’s an option on the app!
I’ve found meditation to be a really positive part of my life. It’s helped with my anxiety and depression significantly so I would highly recommend it!
The final part of my morning routine is reading a chapter of a book. I’m currently reading “It” by Stephen King which I’m really enjoying. I love horror movie novels a lot and I think this is a really good book. It’s a very long book though but I’m making progress!
