I am now a 20 year old…
I am no longer a “teen”…
Okay, I know that was a dramatic start to this blog post but the thought of being 20 is insane in so many different ways. It feels like yesterday that I was a 11 year old entering the doors of my secondary school, bewildered by the new world around me. Now, I’m 20 and I’m two months away from university…
Okay, I need to stop being dramatic. I honestly have no idea where I’m going with this post so I apologise for basically spewing words on you. You know when you have a title and a brief idea in mind but you literally have no clue how to structure the post and even worse, what to talk about? That’s me right now.
I think I’m going to talk about some great things that have happened in my twenty years of being alive on this planet, some not so great things that happened in my twenty years of being alive on this planet and a bucket list of things I would like to have done and have achieved by the time I’m 30.
Right, so let’s get started.
Let’s start with the good things that have happened in my twenty years of being alive on this planet. When I was thinking about this, the one thing that jumped out the most was the amount of theatre trips I’ve been on. I’ve developed a solid relationship with theatre and I feel so lucky to be able to go to the theatre when I can and witness some amazing shows, actors, playwrights, stage crew, technicians, set designers, front of house teams and more. Some of the best trips I’ve had include The Boys In The Band, Come From Away, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Hamilton and more! They were amazing to watch and I’m sure you are all aware Come From Away has become my favourite musical! I highly recommend all of these shows!
Another good thing to have happened to me is making it through A Levels and getting into university. I honestly never thought I would make it because of how much I’ve struggled mentally. When I look back, I feel very lucky to have got this far and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
The final thing is of course the friends I’ve made. They know who they are and if they’re reading this, I’m so glad you’re in my life.
Of course, there are a few bad things that have happened. I’m going to skim over this briefly as I don’t like to focus on the negatives but there have been family illnesses, losing pets, losing friends and dealing with anxiety and depression. These haven’t been the best things to experience but I firmly believe everything happens for a reason and it definitely has shaped me into who I am today.
Now, we’re going on to the bucket list part of the post. These are some things I want to have done by the time I’m 30 years old.
- Go solo travelling
- Do Camp America
- Visit Los Angeles
- Visit New York
- Be in a job that I’m enjoying
- Be in a better position with my anxiety
- Be happy
And that’s everything from this very random blog post! I hope you enjoyed and I’ll see you in my next post!
