Hello everyone! As my previous Bullet Journal Notebook Discussions post was so well received, I thought I would do a part 2. I will be googling and finding some Bullet Journal notebooks to discuss and give my verdicts on. Last time, I only used Amazon but I want to broader my horizons for this post. The following will be discussed:
- Price
- Size
- Number of pages
- Colour options
- Paper type options (dot grid, square grid, plain or lined)
- Paper colour
- Paper thickness (in gsm)
- Individual features of the notebook
- What the reviews say
Stationery Island A5 Dotted Notebook
- Price: £9.99
- Size: A5
- Number of pages: 180
- Colour options: Black and Teal
- Paper type options (dot grid, square grid, plain or lined): dot grid
- Paper colour: ivory paper
- Paper thickness (in gsm): 120gsm
- Individual features of the notebook: There are 2 ribbon bookmarks, 1 pocket at the back and an elastic closure.
- What the reviews say: Overall, the reviews seem positive. One did mention the binding fell apart but Stationery Island offered good customer service and replaced the notebook for them. Everyone talks about how good the quality of the paper is.
My verdict: I like the sound of this notebook. I’m highly considering using this as my next Bullet Journal. I really like how affordable it is compared to some other notebooks. A big plus for me.
Rhodia Webnotebook
- Price: £13.42
- Size: A4, A5, A5 landscape, A6,
- Number of pages: 192
- Colour options: orange, black and silver
- Paper type options (dot grid, square grid, plain or lined): dot grid, lined and plain
- Paper colour: yellow white
- Paper thickness (in gsm): 90gsm
- Individual features of the notebook: This notebook has an elastic closure, ribbon bookmark and a pocket at the back.
- What the reviews say: The notebook is good for those who use fountain pens. Some reviews say they can’t notice the difference between the thickness of the paper on a Leuchtturm and this. For reference, the Leuchtturm is 80gsm.
My verdict: I personally will not be purchasing this notebook. The reason why I won’t be is because I don’t like the colour of the pages. I feel like they would be too yellow toned for me.
Archer and Olive Notebook
- Price: $30
- Size: A5, B5, B6
- Number of pages: 112
- Colour options: I would recommend looking on the website at the various cover designs. They are absolutely beautiful and there are a lot of them.
- Paper type options (dot grid, square grid, plain or lined): Dot grid, square grid, lined and plain.
- Paper colour: cool white
- Paper thickness (in gsm): 160gsm
- Individual features of the notebook: The notebook has a pen loop and 2 ribbon bookmarks. There is also a back pocket and an elastic closure.
- What the reviews say: The reviews are overwhelmingly positive. The thickness of the paper is what everyone likes about the notebook as well as the beautiful cover designs offered.
My verdict: I really want to use this journal but it’s expensive for me to get hold of. The notebook is also quite expensive as a whole to me. However, i think the notebook looks absolutely beautiful and it looks and sounds like amazing quality. I’ll definitely try it out one day.
Essentials A5 Journal
- Price: £10.99
- Size: A5
- Number of pages: 192
- Colour options: black
- Paper type options (dot grid, square grid, plain or lined): dot grid, square grid, plain and lined
- Paper colour: ivory
- Paper thickness (in gsm): 100gsm
- Individual features of the notebook: There is one ribbon bookmark, a back pocket and an elastic closure.
- What the reviews say: The majority of the reviews are 4 and 5 stars. People like how light the dots are in the dot grid notebook and people say the notebook feels good quality, especially in comparison with how affordable the notebook is. One review did say the notebook fell apart but that was only one review on Amazon.
My verdict: I very nearly chose this as my next Bullet Journal as I was tempted to switch to square grid but in the end I changed my mind. I would love to try this in the dot grid version some day.
Little More Notebook
- Price: £12
- Size: A5
- Number of pages: 195
- Colour options: Black, Red, Yellow and Blue
- Paper type options (dot grid, square grid, plain or lined): dot grid
- Paper colour: light cream
- Paper thickness (in gsm): 100gsm
- Individual features of the notebook: There are numbered pages, 4 pages for the index, 2 ribbon book marks, an elastic closure and a pen loop. There are 4 key code pages, 42 blank pages at the end and 8 perforated pages.
- What the reviews say: Reviews are positive but there are a few mentions of the ghosting experienced with the paper. People compared the ghosting to the Leuchtturm. There are a few 1 and 3 star reviews but one thing I did notice was the company responding to these reviews which I think is really good customer service.
My verdict: I was considering this notebook but I am slightly put off by the fact the ghosting is comparable to the Leuchtturm. I do love the features it comes with though so we shall see.
I hope you all found this helpful! There are still many more notebooks I can discuss and review so please let me know if you would like a part three in the future!

I didn’t realise how many different types there are¬ I have the Leuchtturm, for the second time, but I think next time I will branch out and try a different one. With a smaller price tag!xox
