Hello everyone! I can’t believe we’re on the final post of Blogmas. I’m so proud of myself for actually sticking to it this year and having the most amazing support from all of you so thank you. What a way to end the year!
Today’s blog post is going to be a reflection of 2018. I want to think back about the positives and the negatives of this year and think about how this year was overall. Without further ado, let’s get started.
When I was brainstorming all of the positive things that have happened this year, there were quite a few to say the least. As I suffer with mental health illnesses, it’s hard to think back on the positives and so any negative thing clouds on my mind and I just automatically assume that the whole year was negative when in reality it wasn’t.
I went to the theatre as often as I could, I got to see Hamilton for the first time, I discovered my new favourite musical is Everybody’s Talking about Jamie and I got to meet some of my favourite actors again. That’s all a positive!
I also finished my A Levels this year which is one of the biggest achievements. I struggled with A Levels a lot and had to restart them in 2016 because of my mental health. It felt like I was never going to finish them and I did!
I also finished CBT in the early part of 2018 and as a result, my mental health is in a much better place. I am truly thankful to be in the position I am with my mental health and the opportunities CBT gave me to improve my mental health.
The opportunities I have been given through my bullet journal instagram have been the most amazing thing. I have worked with amazing companies such as Ryman, Notebook Therapy and Uniball and I’m also a brand ambassador for Unibox which is such an amazing opportunity. I am extremely grateful for all of these companies for being amazing to me.
Another positive of 2018 was going to Wales with my family after not being able to go in 2017. My family want to move there after my brother finishes education so it was nice to be able to go back to somewhere my parents really like.
Unfortunately, there were some negatives to this year, although thankfully not that many. I did end up losing friends this year which is always difficult to go through. It was extra tough this year due to the timing but I believe everything happens for a reason so it’s important to move forward.
A Levels were also hard. Although I managed to finish them this year, I really struggled with the stress of them and it wasn’t a positive part of my life at all. Furthermore, I didn’t get the grades I wanted. However, I got into my insurance university which is a positive and I’m thankful for that.
This is a shorter post to end with but it’s one that I think is important to do. I just want to say a massive thank you to all of you who have joined my blogging family this year. Thank you for reading my blog posts, thank you for liking them and thank you for commenting.
A normal weekly schedule will continue from Saturday 29th December at 5pm GMT so look out for that!
